Carol June Adams, 54, El Dorado Springs, passed away the morning of Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023.

It is with mixed emotions that the family honors Carol’s passing. Sadness in her absence, yet joy in her heavenly healing.

Carol was born Dec. 26, 1969 with many handicaps and challenges. Doctors advised she would not live past 12 years of age, but she miraculously survived rooted in the most genuine love and care for 54 years. Here sister, Carlene, cared for her the last three years at her home in Concordia after her momma passed away. She is now able to dance and sing, walk and talk. Heavenly healing. There are no tears of sorrow or suffering in the arms of God. We can only imagine the stories she is sharing with Jesus. She has a lot to say.

Carol could not walk, talk or feed herself but she taught many of us value of life. She silently weathered many storms but still managed to communicate. Her loud laughter often filled the house when something amused her. She took special humor if she heard any of the children or grandchildren receiving discipline. She would immediately erupt in laughter. She thought that was so funny. She would rock a beat with country music that was continually playing to soothe her. She did speak a handful of words. The most endearing was, “Momma.”

Carol reminded us of the value of a quality of life. She humbled even the toughest of personalities. Caring for Carol most likely kept a few of us out trouble we would otherwise be considering. She understood more than we realize, including the ability to raise her arms to provide a hug.

Carol is preceded in death by her father and mother, Claud and Florene (Keith) Adams; two toddler brothers, Dwight and Eddie Adams; and brother, Claud (Bubba) Adams. She is survived by older sister, Julie (Adams) Williams – husband, Mark; twin sister Carlla (Adams) Johnson – husband, Ron; younger sister, Carlene (Adams) Brackman – husband, Troy; sister-in-law, Amanda Collins – husband, Kyle. She is also survived by large families on the Adams and Keith sides.

A graveside service for Carol was held Saturday, Dec. 30, at Hackleman Cemetery, under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Brent Bland officiating.
