Carolyn V. McPeak, 73, of El Dorado Springs, passed away on Saturday evening, Oct. 24, 2020. Carolyn was born on Nov. 6, 1946, in Carthage, to Clell and Bina (Parks) Reed. She was united in marriage to Donald Ray McPeak Jr. on Dec. 31, 1966.

Carolyn belonged to Tiffin Baptist Church and was baptized on May 6, 1956. In high school she enjoyed participating in the drama club and yearbook staff. After high school she attended cosmetology school in Springfield and worked as a beautician in El Dorado Springs for 20 years. Following that she managed the Sonic Drive-In for many years. She had a strong work ethic and enjoyed her work.

Carolyn was a member of the Jaycees and later the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of the Eagles 4279, where she was an officer and dedicated charter member for several years. She cherished the friendships she made there and watching NASCAR races with friends. Carolyn cared about people and was quick to befriend anyone she met from all walks of life. She also enjoyed traveling south. She was always smiling and enjoyed socializing with her friends and spending time with her family, her partner, Ray Cobb Jr., and her dog, “Goldie.”

Preceding Carolyn in death were her parents, Clell and Bina; husband, Don; sister, Janie Hackleman; and partner, Ray Cobb Jr.

Survivors include her son, Ryan McPeak; daughter, Regina McPeak; grandchildren: Draven McPeak, Wacey Rivale and Garin McCullick; and great-grandchildren, Quincy and Iylah.

A service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Daniel officiating. A family only interment will follow at the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
