Clyde Curtis Jones, 81, El Dorado Springs, passed away at home on Oct. 24, 2023. On Jan. 3, 1942, Clyde was born to Herman and Flora (Harris) Jones, in St. Clair County.
Clyde married Bonnie Carol (Smith) on Feb. 22, 1974, and lovingly acquired four daughters Debbie, Donna, Gayle and Shiela. They were commonly called Bonnie and Clyde.
Clyde lived most of his life in El Dorado Springs, helping raise his daughters and grandchildren. He had a kind heart and was a loving husband and father who would do anything for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved sharing stories of his childhood and life experiences. He will be greatly missed. Clyde loved music and singing and was especially proud of his dad, Herman’s (Sac River Jones) fiddle music. He had a great sense of humor. One of his favorite sayings was “See you in the funny papers.” He loved new cars, old western shows, and in particular, Elvis Presley and John Wayne.
Clyde graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1960. He worked at the International Shoe Factory and Barrington Sheet Metal Manufacturing.
Clyde was saved late in life. He told a testimony of salvation and attended the Concord Missionary Baptist Church at Cedar Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman (Sac River) and Flora Jones; brothers, Walter Jones and Herman Harris Jones; sisters, Marjorie Mae Smith, Edna Wyatt, and Mildred Moore; granddaughter, Jessie Bell; and grandson, Zachary Bell.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Jones; daughters, Debbie Cornejo, Donna Rock, Gayle Bell and husband, Danny, Shiela Howell and husband, Mike; brother-in-law, Kenneth Smith, and wife, Martha; nieces, Evelyn Evans and Shirley Mauck; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
