Clyde Dorman, 91, El Dorado Springs, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Clyde was born in Mountain Home, AR, on Aug. 13, 1930, to Clyde Edwin and Nannie B. Bradley Dorman. He had five older siblings: Rena Faye, Edwin, Everett, Joe and Eva Lea. He married the love of his life, Evelyn Lucille Floyd, on July 9, 1949. They began their love-filled journey in the Kansas City area. They raised eight children, the first three in Kansas City and the remaining five after moving to Irving, TX, in 1956. Daughters, Jacqueline Beck (Thomas), Denice Bell (Steve Broadhurst), Marlene Holtkamp (Steve), Sandra Pompa, Ellen Tucker (Robert), Robin Pressley (Darrell), Rhonda Dorman (Jackie Stockton) and Roger Dorman.
He was a machinist for Deluxe Check Printers for 36 years. He retired in 1985. Clyde and Evelyn returned to Missouri in 1988 to enjoy their rural acreage and home. Clyde was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was a man of great faith and a source of love and gentle strength, guidance and true devotion to his family that included those of marriage, adoption and friendship. He was a mentor to all. Clyde loved fishing, hunting, walking his property, playing music and singing and listening to country music. Most of all, he loved piddling about his home and workshop.
Preceding him in death was his loving wife, Evelyn; father; mother and all five siblings and one grandchild, Aaron Lloyd Tipping.
He is survived by all of his children; remaining grandchildren and sister-in-law, Bernice Arlene Sanders, plus several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all.
Graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, at Antioch Cemetery, Pittsburg.
