Dale Crowder Pasley was born Sept. 21, 1935, the youngest of two sons born to Colonel Clyde and Ada Crowder Pasley. He passed away Nov. 1, 2020 in Lowry City.

His early life and education was in the Roscoe area where his father farmed, raised cattle and operated the Pasley Auction Company. During his High School years, he came to Osceola High School graduating in 1953.

Upon graduation he attended Missouri University in Columbia graduating with a degree in Agriculture and Animal Science. He often spoke fondly of his years in Columbia, his fraternity and of course, his pride in Tiger football. Many of his Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity brothers became lifelong friends. The United States Army was his next vocation. He served overseas in Korea and attained the rank First Lieutenant. He flew reconnaissance missions and was Honorably Discharged in August of 1959.

After returning from the Army, Dale joined his father in the Pasley Auction Company. They operated the Pasley Auction Company in Osceola and held many, many farm and household auctions. After his father’s passing in 1969, he continued the Pasley tradition for 50 more years, ensuring that the Pasley Auction Company operated in St. Clair and surrounding counties for 100 years. The farm sale Dale held on the family farm in 2019 was their last sale.

On Aug. 6, 1971, he was united in marriage to Julia Ann Bennett. They made their home near Roscoe where she taught school and he raised cattle and continued the Pasley Auction Company tradition. Julie preceded him in death in 1991.

Dale was united in marriage to Janet Pfeifer on Valentines Day in 2004. They enjoyed many overseas trips and Janet survives the family home near Roscoe.

He was an avid mushroom hunter and enjoyed giving them to friends and family. He kept a daily dairy and added to it religiously.

He loved to play golf and make $1 bets. The negotiations often took nearly as long as the actual game itself and he often bought dinner on the way home, regardless of the outcome of the bet.

Dale was one of the original investors in the Community Bank of El Dorado Springs and was very proud of the bank’s growth, success and contributions to the area.

Dale was preceded in death by his brother Clyde Marquis Pasley. He is survived by his wife Janet, of the home; two nephews, Mark and Mike Pasley, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
