Delton “Bud” Olinger, 90, was born Feb. 12, 1930, and passed away Sept. 16, 2020.
A United States Navy veteran, Bud was known for being extremely patriotic in his views. He was a well know and constant contributor to the “Letter to the Editor” in the local papers. There were always pro and con reactions to his articles, but there was never any doubt about his position on a multitude of issues. I am sure his wit and wisdom will be sorely missed by many.
He retired from C&H Sugar Refinery as a Journeyman Pipe Filter in Crockett, CA, were he raised his family. Being an avid hunter, Bud loved fishing in the San Francisco Bay area and the Pacific Ocean. As a dedicated reader of poetry and history, he passed this on to his children and grandchildren. Among his favorite authors were Jack London and as of late, Bill O’Rielly, which was no surprise there to anyone who knew him.
Bud is survived by his wife, of may years, Nixola June Olinger, El Dorado Springs; daughter, Dianna Silva, El Dorado Springs; two granddaughters, Rachel Oman and Leah Taylor both of El Dorado Springs; son, Robert (Denise) Olinger of Collins; two grandsons, Eric Olinger of Stockton and Sam Olinger of Martinez, CA; as well and four step grandchildren, Dustin of Concord, CA, Curt of Spokane, WA, Ely of Martinez, CA and Chrissy of Oakland, CA. There are a combined 20 great-grandchildren to his credit.

Family will receive friend from 12-1 Thursday, Oct. 22, at the funeral home
