Erva Elaine (Stebbins) Lazo

Erva Elaine Lazo was born on March 7, 1942, in Mo Valley, IA, at home to Steve Stebbins and Mabel (Plouch) Stebbins. She passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, in Walnut Creek, CA. Her husband, Vince, and granddaughter, Lynn (whom they raised), was by her side.

Erva Elaine attended school in El Dorado Springs and graduated from ElDo High in 1960. After graduation she went to live with an older sister in San Jose, CA, where she attended college to become a school teacher. She taught school for 35 years. After retiring, her sisters, nieces and cousins would meet in Las Vegas, NV, for a week. They did this for several years. She always looked forward to coming back to Missouri for family and class reunions.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Mabel Stebbins, nineteen brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband, Vince Lazo; one daughter, Samantha and four granddaughters. All of California. Brother All Stebbins of El Dorado Springs; sisters Betty Thomas of El Dorado Springs; Vinnie Lankford of Clinton, MO; multitudes of nieces, nephews and friends.

On Wednesday, Oct. 16, her husband passed away from a long-term illness.
