Hazel Lesmeister, 76, of Butler, passed away March 6, 2018, at her home near Butler.

Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, March 9, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Butler with Fr. Matt Rotert officiating.. Burial, under direction of Mullinax Funeral Home (660-679-0009) in Butler, was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler.

Hazel Mae (Hamilton) Lesmeister was born Feb. 7, 1942 to Edward Lester and Antonia Henrietta (Cruzan) Hamilton in Cedar County.

Hazel graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1960. She then moved to Kansas City and worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone until her marriage in 1963. Hazel’s husband, Donald, passed away in May of 2016.

In addition to her husband, Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers – Charles, Don Lee, Kenneth and Lennie, and sister, Kathy. She leaves to mourn her loss her children and their families: son, Michael, and wife, Debbie Lesmeister, and their children Erin and Emily; daughter, Jannette Ann Lesmeister, with her children, Jessica, and husband, Matt Beabout, and their children, Skylar and Dylan, Michael Edward Graham and Megan Land and their son, Kanon; and son, Mark, and wife, Bonnie Lesmeister, and their children, Cort and Luke. Hazel is also survived by her brothers – Edward, Byron, Paul, Phillip and Sammie. She also leaves behind her sisters -Marjorie, Alice and Mary. She is also survived by many cousins and in-laws.
