Helen Francis (Rippee) Miller, 88, of El Dorado Springs, passed away at Community Springs Nursing Home on Tuesday evening, July 14, 2020. Helen was born Sept. 11, 1931, at Dederick, Missouri, the daughter of Virgil Rippee and Opal Rippee. She attended school in El Dorado Springs and resided there most of her life.
Helen married Elmer Breshears and to this union two daughters were born, Linda and Janet. Except for brief periods, she lived her entire life in El Dorado Springs. She was a wonderful, loving woman showing kindness and support to anyone that she could. Helen was a loving mother, raising her daughters to be loving, respectful, responsible young women.
Helen was a very hard worker, raising and supporting her daughters, and teaching them the love of God. She was never known to be without a job, and was employed at Ben Franklin, Carps, Shoe Factory and Hagles. She was by all accounts a very hard worker and a beloved friend to many.
Times were challenging for Helen as a young single parent, but she always made sure her girls were loved and cared for. She enjoyed board games, playing cards, gardening and spending time with friends and family. Helen also loved to cook and her holiday dinners were amazing.
Helen married her long time love and friend Gerald Miller August 8, 1994, and enjoyed her life with Gerald until his death. Also preceding Helen in death were her daughter, Linda K. Pinkman; her father and mother, Virgil and Opal Rippee; brother, Bob; and sisters, Betty, Billie and Faye.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet F. Norman; brother, Kenneth Pippin; grandsons, Michael and David Pinkman; a great grandson and step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen will always be in our hearts and very deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
A graveside service was held Monday, July 20, in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery with Rev. Brent Bland officiating under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
