Helen Lou Land, 78, Nevada, departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, in Nevada Regional Medical Center. Helen was born Sept. 9, 1938, in Humansville to Clifford and Margie (Gump) Box.

She was united in marriage to Charles T. Land on Aug. 17, 1956, in El Dorado Springs. He survives of the home.

Helen grew up in El Dorado Springs and Humansville. She attended Nevada High School one year with the class of 1956 and later graduated from St. Charles (MO) High School.

She worked at both the Nevada Medical Clinic and Nevada Habilitation Center for over 10 years each.

Helen was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church in Nevada.

In addition to her husband, Charles, survivors include three children – Cindy Burnett and her husband, Scott – Rogers, AR, Mark Land and his wife, Jodie – Blue Springs, Greg Land and his wife, Traci – Katy, TX; nine grandchildren – Christy, Nathan, Jessi, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Jason, Allison and Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Jemma; one brother, Clifford Box – St. Peters; two sisters, Maxine Norton – Kansas City and Dollie Harper – St. Charles; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Keller; and one brother, Monte Box.

Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 31, in Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Lawrence Cripps officiating. Interment followed in Newton Burial Park, Nevada.
