Jerry Ray Coleman, 66, was born June 5, 1957, and passed away at his home on Sept. 15, 2023. Jerry loved his church, Blue Ridge Church of God (Holiness), which he had attended as a boy. He especially enjoyed getting together with friends at the once-a-month church dinner get-togethers. He graduated from Fort Scott Christian Heights which he attended with his brother Dave, and shared good memories of their school days. He knew Jesus as his personal friend and savior.

Jerry was a Cardinal and Chiefs fan. He liked to hunt and fish when he was able. He enjoyed talking to Kenny Hubbard about quail hunting and their bird dogs. Once he caught one of the biggest catfish that had been caught at Caplinger Mills Dam. He posted pictures of it on the wal,l but did not say that he caught it in the shallow water with a bucket.

Jerry is survived by his mother, Nadine Baker; his brother, David and sister-in-law, Vicki; his aunt, Lois Smith; his stepbrother, Mike Coleman; his aunt, Doris, and Jr Sawyer; his uncle, Wayne Tolliver; uncle, James Coleman, and aunt, Gladys Coleman, and many cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Benny Coleman, and his grandparents.

Services for Jerry were held Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Avery will be speaking. His final resting place will be Love Cemetery.
