Keith K. Davis, 88, Nevada, departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, in Freeman West Hospital, Joplin. Keith was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Stonington, CO, to John William and Etta Grace (Redman) Davis.

Keith lived in Colorado while growing up. When Keith was a young man he served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed there for two years. Upon his return from Korea he attended Adams State University in Alamosa, CO, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Following college Keith spent two years teaching English abroad, one year in Manchester, England, and one year in Ankara, Turkey. At that time Keith returned to the states and was recruited to teach school at Los Alamos, NM, for 20 years.

He retired early from teaching at the age of 50 and moved to Missouri to reside on the farm he had purchased. Keith raised Limousin cattle in Vernon County for the next 30 years. He enjoyed taking care of his land and his cattle.

During his life Keith traveled to Jerusalem to visit the Wailing Wall, climbed the Pyramids in Egypt and traveled Europe extensively.

Keith was a history buff, loved politics and was a staunch Republican. He was a voracious reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a loyal blood donor.

Keith was known by his family as “Uncle Tuff”.

Survivors include one sister, Ernestine Adson, Pueblo, CO; one brother, Glen Davis, and his wife Faye, Bloomfield, NM; one special brother-in-law, Hugh Marion, Dumas, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Genevieve Williams, and sister, Ruth Marion; four brothers – Velmer Davis, Randall Davis, Wayne Davis and Vesper Davis.

Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 19, in Love Cemetery in Cedar County.

Memorials are suggested in his memory to the American Red Cross in c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
