Kurt Lee Morlan, 62, El Dorado Springs, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026. Kurt was born Sept. 4, 1963, in El Dorado Springs to Delbert and Marty (Elliston) Morlan.
Kurt spent his youth helping his grandad Chief on the family farm, being ornery with his brothers and spending time on the Sac River with friends. Throughout his childhood and early adult years, he had Sunday dinner every week with his cherished grandparents. Kurt graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1981 and spent time working for McCullick’s gas station and Beaty Construction before he began a career as an electrical lineman at KAMO Power. He later worked for PAR Electric and worked on substations in many states before retiring early to spend more time on his lifelong passion of running cattle at his family’s farm.
Kurt’s family and friends will forever remember that he worked so hard to make sure his people were well taken care of, the properties he loved were in excellent condition, and his animals received the care he felt they deserved. His meticulous attention to detail, love for preserving and utilizing the outdoors, and his recent passion for buying guns to share with his son-in-law will never be forgotten.
Toward the end of his life Kurt kept his circle small, but he loved them well and was deeply loved in return. He leaves behind his partner of many years, Vicki of the home; as well as his faithful dog, Twinkie. Kurt is also survived by his mother, Marty Graham of El Dorado Springs; daughter, Brandi (Jacob); beloved grandchildren: Livie, Lexon and Trey all of Ft. Riley, KS; brothers, David (Anne) of Stockton and Gregg of El Dorado Springs; several nieces and nephews and their families; Vicki’s daughter, Amanda (Chuck) and their children: Clay (Alyssa), Chase, and Charlie; as well as many other extended family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emerson & Alice Elliston; father, Delbert Morlan; step-father, Dick Graham; step-brother, Rick Graham; and a fatherly friend, Jake Hargrove.
A memorial service for Kurt will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-6 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
