Laura Mae Smith

Laura Mae Smith, 71, Sarcoxie, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.She was born Nov. 4, 1952, to Carl and Virginia Breeding of El Dorado Springs where Laura attended and graduated high school in 1970.

On Aug. 27, 1995, Laura married Ronnie Smith in El Dorado Springs.She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

Laura is survived by her husband, Ronnie Smith; children: Leon Breeding (Kim), Leslie Morris (Melissa), Lesia Dee (Chris), Leland Morris (Kelsi), and Joe Smith; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Daniel Breeding (Susan) – Lone Jack, Dennis Breeding (Janet) – Harrah, OK, and Mark Breeding – Independence.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Carl and Virginia Breeding; one daughter, Leah Morris; and step-son, Russell Smith.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Bland-Hackleman Chapel with services to follow beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Sandridge Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sandridge Cemetery and left at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home in her memory.
