Lola Irene (Hickman) Hensley, 93, El Dorado Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 4, 2022.

Lola was born on April 29, 1929, the oldest daughter of the late Henry Leroy and Lena Hickman. She accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized in the Osage River near Schell City. She attended Schell City High School and graduated in 1946.

After graduating, she was employed at the Farmers State Bank of Schell City. She later attended college at Bolivar and taught at a country school where she had attended herself.

On Dec. 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to William B. Hensley of Collins. She spent the next 61 years with her lover until his passing on June 6, 2012. To this union three sons were born: Marvin Neil, Wayne Allan and Roger Lynn.

She always enjoyed being a home maker and doing hand work.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edith Stockstill; and brothers, Fred William and Charles Hickman.

She is survived by her sons, Marvin (Vickie) – Monett, Wayne (Jackie) – El Dorado Springs and Roger (Angie) – El Dorado Springs; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many friends, nieces and nephews.

Service for Lola was a graveside at El Dorado Springs City Cemetery, Thursday Oct. 6.
