Lonnie Ray Vann, 83, El Dorado Springs, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026. Lonnie was a car enthusiast, loved to travel, and was a devoted member of First Christian Church.
Lonnie was born Dec. 27, 1942, in Venice, CA, to Lewis Vann and Ruby Vann. Lonnie served in the United States Navy and Marine Corps from August 1965 to March of 1970. Lonnie also worked in various power plants where he trained personnel from California to New York, and even in Russia.
One of Lonnie’s greatest passions was cars. Every year, Lonnie enjoyed decorating and driving his Model A in the local Christmas parade with his nieces. Lonnie had the greatest sense of humor and loved to make others laugh.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and one aunt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Vann and Lewis Vann; brother, Robert Vann; and sister, Vivian.
A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, June 19, at First Christian Church in El Dorado Springs, MO, under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Services will be lived streamed at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
In lieu of sending flowers, Lonnie’s family has requested donations be made to the honor flight for veterans.
