Loy Summers, 82, El Dorado Springs, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at his home.
He was born July 14, 1934, in Clinton the son of Elmer Summers and Melba E. (Hosterman) Summers.
Loy married Vicki Corrine LaJaunie on Nov. 25, 1988 in Lexington and she survives of the home.
He retired as a lineman with Century Link Phone Co. in 1993 after 42 years of service.
Loy was a member of the Catholic faith.
He enjoyed trap shooting and “tinkering” in his garage. He was known to be able to fix just about anything.
In addition to his wife, Vicki, he is survived by four sons – Scott Summers and companion, Gino Talary, Australia; Jeff Templeton, St. Louis; David R. Watson and wife, Dana, El Dorado Springs and Brian Watson, Poplar Bluff; three daughters – Kim Tafesh, Houston, TX; Lorna Hicks, Richmond; and Anna-Marie Watson, Lincoln; 12 grandchildren – Fatimha, Hassan, Hosein, David J., Joseph, Seth, Makaylyn, Briana, Anthony, Zachary, Madisyn and Jaden; one sister, Twila Corley, Leavenworth, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eldon Summers, and one in infancy; and one sister Wanda Eckhart.
Services were Tuesday, Aug. 16, in the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, with Fr. Jim Taranto officiating. Burial was in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Racket, MO.
