Margaret Joanne McCrary Pfifer passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 19, 2025. She was born March 24, 1940.
Margaret liked to go to church, play cards and board games with grandson, Calvin, and other relatives and friends, watch game shows, old westerns, 48 Hours, and True Stories. She enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, and get-togethers with family. She worked in nursing homes and home health care as a nurse’s aide. She worked in her first nursing home at age 18 in Golden, Colorado, which was a live-in job. She became a certified nurse’s aide at Stockton nursing home when it was first built. She did a lot of home health care with the elderly in Stockton. The last person she took care of was her grandson, Calvin, who was born with a heart condition.
Margaret had 26 1⁄2 good years with Tom. She was very happy and had a good long life. She was well loved because she loved well.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas McCrary and Ed Pfifer; father, Woodrow Wilson-Briels; mother, Violet May Bryant; stepfather, Jack Bryant; brothers: Gary Lee Briels, James Louis Briels, and Thomas Briels; sister, Nancy May Hoselton; sister-in-law, Sharon Briels; and niece, Jessica.
She is survived by her son, James L. McCrary and Lisa; daughters, Kay Murr and Ronnie; brother, Dale Dee Briels; sister, Debra Briels and Steve; sisters-in-law: Dee Briels and Pat Briels; grandchildren: Thomas Warren and Deborah, Ryan Warren, Amanda Robbins and Scar, Calvin McCrary, Tisha Wheatly, Chris Pfifer, Tony, Amber, and Lockie; and great-grandchildren: Ieyaio Robbins, Dynami Robbins, Royal Robbins, Valerie Warren, and Kennedy Warren.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at Fairview Community Church, Osiris, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at Bland-Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton.
