Marjorie Ann Hill

Marjorie Ann Hill, age 78, of San Antonio, TX, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020. She was a former resident of Appleton City, El Dorado Springs, Branson, Springfield and Willard.
Marjorie was born May 11, 1942, to John and Dorthea (Lukenbill) Sherieck in Appleton City. She was a 1960 graduate of Appleton City High School. In 1961, she married Marvin Hill in Appleton City. They settled in El Dorado Springs, where Marjorie worked at the International Shoe Factory and later as an administrator at ConTel. They owned and operated Marvin’s Skelly/Texaco Service. To their union two children were born, Marsha and Mark.
In 1984, ConTel moved their offices to Branson. Marjorie commuted between Branson and El Dorado Springs until the station was sold in 1989, and Marvin joined her in Branson. They also lived in Springfield and Willard, for several years before moving to San Antonio to be near Marsha.
Marjorie kept in touch with friends and co-workers from every place she lived or worked. She was adored by family and friends for her holiday gatherings, house parties with rousing games of pitch, gathers of her kid’s school friends, and visits to family and friends with fresh garden produce, gifts, her ever present smile, caring, laughter, support and love.
Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents, John and Dorthea Sherieck; her husband of 54 years, Marvin; her son, Mark; and her sister, Jean Lewellen.
Survivors include her daughter, Marsha and husband, Franklin Fewell, of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Roger Sherieck and wife, Terry, of Rockville, and Donald Sherieck and wife, Debbie, of Lee’s Summit; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews whom she adored. She also had many cherished friends and former co-workers.
A memorial service and celebration of life for Marjorie Hill will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, west of El Dorado Springs. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, i Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Springfield and left at the funeral home.
