Mary Ann Wise (née Howerton), 77, passed away at Kindred Hospital Jan. 2, 2020, in Ontario, CA, due to complications following abdominal surgery.

Mrs. Wise was born on May 11, 1942, in Kansas City, to parents Eugene and Sarah Howerton. She graduated from El Dorado Springs HS in 1960 and married Nathan Womble in 1971, giving birth to her daughter in 1972. Shortly after, they moved to Huntsville, Arkansas where she lived until Nathan’s death in 2006.

Mary worked as an electronics assembler for LaBarge Electronics for over 25 years and retired in 2007, when she married Robert Wise. Shortly after Robert’s death in 2014, she moved to California to live with her daughter.

Mrs. Wise is survived by her daughter Mickie Palubicki, son-in-law Paul Palubicki, and grandson Daniel Palubicki, as well as her bothers Wayne Howerton and wife Sugi, Phil Howerton and wife Peggy, and sister-in-law Donna Howerton.

She is preceded in death by her parents Sarah and Eugene Howerton, brother Tony Howerton, brother Kenny Dean Howerton, husband Nathan Womble, and husband Robert Wise.

Mrs. Wise was a thoughtful, sweet, strong woman with an indomitable will and a fierce devotion to her Lord. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and loving grandmother who sacrificed much for her family and leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and laughter. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home and she will be laid to rest at the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24. Arrangements are under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
