Mary LaVerne Dissler Cook, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away Friday, November 29th, 2024, at the age of 90 at Lake Stockton Nursing Home.
LaVerne married Harold Henry Dissler on July 20,1956 until his passing in 1999. Then she was married to Walter Cook on April 15, 2001, until his passing on August 5, 2023.
LaVerne is survived by two sons, David Lynn Dissler married to Linda Dissler & Michael Stephen Dissler married to Maggie Bullock; David’s two children, Mary Jessica & Caleb Benjiman Dissler; Michael’s three children: Wayne Redburn, Machaleah Redburn, & Dakota Redburn; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
LaVerne was involved in the telecommunication sector and worked for the phone companies from the time she graduated college at Graceland until her retirement. She was also and Eastern Star, Lioness, and Pastor for the RLDS Church in Stockton, MO. LaVerne and Harold Dissler had also run the RLDS Campground in Sanford, Michigan for several years.
LaVerne was always a respected member of the community and will be dearly missed. She never knew a stranger and was always available to help others in need.
Services for LaVerne will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
