Mary Rebecca Satterlee, 86, El Dorado Springs, passed away on Feb. 15, 2017. She was born in Knoxville, TN, to Ralph and Esther Aldrich. Mary married William H. Satterlee on Aug. 7, 1948, in Kansas City. Mary’s last two years of life she lived at the home of son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Pam Satterlee. She moved to El Dorado Springs almost seven years ago.

Mary and her husband, Bill, were married for 64 years. Bill passed away Jan. 13, 2013. They had four children – David W. Satterlee, Arizona, Ralph E. Satterlee, El Dorado Springs, Harold E. Satterlee, Texas and Joyce M. Mock, Australia.

Mary was raised, graduated from high shool and married in the Kansas City area. Mary worked as a legal secretary during the late 1940’s early 50’s in the Kansas City area.

In 1963 she moved to Liberty, MO, for two years; in Clinton, AR then to El Dorado Springs for the past almost seven years.

Mary had a long and full life and enjoyed her family and many friends. She, her husband and family traveled to several states on vacations. Mary and Bill also traveled to Mexico and to some Carribean Islands. Mary enjoyed her rose and vegetable gardening, sewing, reading and her personal bible study.

She dedicated her life to Jehovah God seventy-nine years ago. Mary had a firm faith in the resurrection hope as outlined in God’s Word, the Bible. In the sentence of life, Mary’s passing is a comma (pause) not a period. Mary attended regularly the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of El Dorado Springs. She volunteered in a full time Bible ministry work for two years after getting married and for six years after her children were raised in Liberty. She was active in her ministry as she was able to do almost up to her last month of life. Mary conducted many home Bible Studies in earlier years with people she enjoyed very much.

Those who also survive Mary include one brother, Lloyd Aldrich, and sister, Joy Marshall, both of Arizona; four children listed above; five grandchildren – Sondi Faye (Satterlee) Bowen and husband, Bob Bowen, of Springfield; Andrea Rachelle (Satterlee) Pike of El Dorado Springs; Micah Neale Satterlee and wife, Courtni, of Springfield; Wesley H. Satterlee of Oklahoma and Nathan W. Satterlee of Canada; two great-grandchildren, Austin Taylor Bowen and wife Jayme, of Springfield and Miles Parker Satterlee of Springfield.

Service will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, in the  Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, El Dorado Springs.
