Melba L. McPeak, 92, of El Dorado Springs, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at Moore Few Care Center in Nevada.  Melba was born May 6, 1927, to Roy Hershall and Bessie (Haggard) Dennis.

Melba was saved and baptized at a young age.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs.

On March 3, 1943, Melba married Donald V. McPeak in Ft. Scott, KS.  Four children were born to this union, one daughter and three sons.  Melba worked alongside her husband in the insurance and real estate business for many years.

Preceding Melba in death were her parents; her husband, Don; two sons, Donald Ray McPeak and Terry McPeak; and two sisters, Margie Carter and Evelyn Harvey.

Melba is survived by her daughter, Sandra D. Hacker, and husband, Richard “Dick” of Nevada; son, Scott McPeak, and wife, Marty, of Sheldon; two brothers, Roy Dennis and wife, Marvelene, of El Dorado Springs and Dean Dennis of Colorado; sister, Donna (Dennis) Hopper, of Republic; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She loved her dogs over the years. Mr. Chips, Sissy and MacBaby brought her so much joy and comfort.

Services will begin held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. Brent Bland officiating.  Interment will follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Eric McPeak, Ryan McPeak, Jared McPeak, Ethan McPeak, Mike Hutchison, Garin McCullick and Chance Butterfield.
