Michael Dennis Bausch, 83, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023. Denny was born on July 14 1940 just east of El Dorado Springs on the family farm, to Michael and Goldie Bausch.

He grew up and worked on the farm with his brother and sisters. He graduated from El Dorado Springs High School before studying to become a Doctor of Chiropractic at Cleveland Chiropractic Institute in Kansas City. Denny started his successful practice in Kansas City North before retiring in 1999 after practicing for 32 years.

When Denny retired he bought a farm in Cedar Springs, not too far from his family’s farm where he grew up. He enjoyed retirement, building a home, remodeling old John Deere tractors and raising cattle. He loved hosting family whenever they visited. Every fall he enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the whole family.

Denny was preceded in death by parents, Michael and Goldie Bausch; brother, Russell Bausch; sister, Beverly Joan Southworth.

He is survived by his daughter, Janice Stephenson, husband, Monte – Kansas City; granddaughter, Lauren Umstattd, husband, Corbin; great-grandsons, Harris and Jay – Kansas City; granddaughter, Clara DeWitt, husband, Matt – Olathe, KS; daughter, Janine Muck, husband, Mike – Olathe, KS; grandson, Austin Muck, wife, Kallie; great-granddaughter, Juniper – Overland Park, KS; grandson, Cason Muck, wife, Sydney – Olathe, KS; granddaughter, Jentry Johnson, husband, Blake – Kansas City; son, David Bausch, wife, Kim – Kansas City; granddaughter, Ayla; great-grandson, Gray – Kansas City; grandson, Mike Bausch – Kansas City; son, Greg Bausch, wife, Kelly; grandson, Matthew Bausch; granddaughter, Emmi Bausch; granddaughter, Kelsi Hoem; great-grandson, Aayan; great-granddaughters, Aaybrie and Aayvianna – Kansas City; first wife, Barbara McAdams – Smithville; sister, Ava Marlene Phipps – El Dorado Springs and the current love of his life, Loretta Witt, (Pookie Do) – El Dorado Springs.

To honor Denny’s memory, we will hold a celebration of his life on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Sheldon funeral home, El Dorado Springs. Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. funeral service is at 11. Burial will follow at Clintonville Cemetery. We invite anyone who knew him to attend and remember his wonderful life.
