Nicholas Neil Nading, 75, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Independence, MO.

Nick was born February 28, 1951, in St. Francis, KS, to Bill and Mary Nading. He graduated from Kingman High School before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Army as an Infantryman during the Vietnam War.

During his military service, Nick earned numerous honors for his courage and dedication, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Parachute Badge and the Pathfinder Badge. He was proud of his service and remained a steadfast supporter of veterans throughout his life, contributing to the local VFW in Kingman, AZ.

Above all else, Nick loved his family. He was known for his ornery personality, quick wit and sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Nick was also a faithful supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, believing deeply in helping children and families facing serious illness.

He is survived by his son, James Nading; nephews: David (Angela) Marshall, Steve (Carey) Nading, and Chad (Jennifer) Nading; his niece, Sandy (Chris) Barker; and sister-in-law, Georgia Nading: along with other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary Nading; his sister, Geraldine Marshall; and his brother, Bill Nading.

A graveside service will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25, p.m. at Clintonville Cemetery in El Dorado Springs, under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Nick’s memory.
