Richard Lavern Spada, 58, died of lung cancer in his home in Springfield on Nov. 4, 2016. He was born to Sam and Jeanette Spada on Nov. 8, 1957 in Whittier, CA.

He had two siblings, Vicki Brown and Bow Brown. Rick was briefly married to Donna Crispin. The marriage resulted in a child. Richard Crispin was born In 1978. In 1983, Rick married the love of his life, Teresa Sweeney. He was married to Teresa Sweeney for 24 years and together a total of nearly 30 years. They resided in Anaheim, CA, for 10 years before moving to El Dorado Springs in the Summer of 1989.

Rick had been a painter all of his life. He had his own business, Spada Painting.

He enjoyed rock hunting, fishing, camping, surfing and dancing. He especially loved the water; the lake, the river and the ocean. Rick was known for his extraordinary social life and big heart. He was always the life of the party.

He is survived by his son, Richard Crispin, step-son Justin Penney, daughter Leah Moore; grandchildren, Chayna Penney, Zayne Anderson, Makayla Killion, Jayden Killion, and Jace Penney; his niece, Angel Overstreet and many friends including his best friends, Justin and Julie Graham. Predeceased in death by his brother, Bow Brown, sister Vicki Brown, father Sam Spada, mother, Jeanette Spada, and his step-daughter, Ambrea Penney.

Rick’s last wishes were to reside in the place he loved the most, the ocean. Services took place Tuesday, Nov, 15, in the First Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs and was lead by pastor Ron Marsh.
