Robert Ronald Davis, 89, El Dorado Springs,  passed away on July 21, 2017.  Robert was born on Oct. 19, 1927, in Omaha, NE, to George and Nellie Davis, the youngest of seven siblings.

Robert married Mary Lou Hamby on Oct. 7, 1950, in Bentonville, AR. To their union, four children were born.

Robert joined the United States Navy on Nov. 27, 1945, in Chicago, IL, and proudly served until his honorable discharge as a Fireman First on Nov. 25, 1947, in San Pedro, CA.  He served on the USS Frontier, EX-USS Boyd, and USS Current vessels. He then returned to Missouri and raised his family while working at Mid-America Dairymen Company for 37 years, retiring in November, 1989.

Preceding Robert in death were his parents; his wife, Mary Lou; one daughter, Penny Rogers; one son, Danny; six of his siblings – two brothers, George and Harry, and four sisters – Verna Davis, Dorothy Haddix, Marian Center, and infant sister, Jeanie. Also, preceding him in death were two great-granddaughters, Ellie and Sofia Davis; and a step-great-grandson, Teagan Baldwin.

He is survived by one daughter, Anita Kaye Greenstreet and husband Tommy, and one son, Randy Davis, and wife, Karen, all of El Dorado Springs; sister, Dallas Goodman of Schell City; seven grandchildren; one step-grandson; three step-granddaughters; several great and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Graveside services were held on Monday, July 24, in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery with Rev. Brent Bland officiating.  Arrangements were under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with full military honors.   

Pallbearers were Ryan Davis, Chase Rogers, Kendall Overton, Chris Dralle , Jason Fick and Brad Leonard. Honorary pallbearers were Wendall Allen, Darrell Smith, and Brian Koger.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Council of the Blind and left at the funeral home.
