Roy Dean Weeda, 67,  was ushered into heaven on April 5, 2017, at KU Medical Center. Roy was born to Irven and Opal Weeda on Sept. 20, 1949, in Clarinda, IA.

He graduated from Bedford High School in 1967 and married his high school sweetheart, Dixie Beemer. Roy joined the Air Force and served as a crew chief and electronic technician from 1972-1979.

Their young family of five moved to Kansas City where Roy worked for the Corps of Engineers. In 1982, Roy transitioned to the FBI as an electronic technician where his career would last until 2011 when he retired.

Roy was a devoted husband to Dixie for 38 years before becoming a widower. In 2006, Roy married Arlene Breshears and remained a loving husband, father and grandfather to the newly expanded family.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, woodworking, NASCAR, and traveling. Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Irven and Opal Weeda; sister, Twyla Larison; and wife, Dixie Weeda. He is survived by wife, Arlene Breshears Weeda; children – Troy (Jacque) Weeda, Kristie (Eric) Sapp, Cory (Carrie) Weeda, Steven (Heather) Breshears and Holly (Matt) Braswell; grandchildren – Danielle and Trey Weeda, Mikhayla Sapp and Paige (Phillip) Maggio, Brianne and Katelyn Weeda, Harrison, Brett and Ella Breshears and Hayden and Lily Braswell; brother,, Ray (Karen) Weeda; brother-in-law, Harlan Larison; sister-in-law, Diane (Scott) Sheffield; in-laws, Dick and Jean Beemer; mother-in-law, Virginia Beydler,  El Dorado Springs; a host of nieces and nephews; and a multitude of extended family and friends. Services were held April 7 in Langsford Funeral Home (115 SW 3rd Street, Lee’s Summit).
