Ruby Lorene Clifford, 89, El Dorado Springs, passed away Feb. 13, 2017, at Community Springs Healthcare. She was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Wagoner, to Dewey and Ethel (Freedle) O’Conner. She was united in marriage to Joe T Clifford on April 30, 1947, in Fort Scott, KS. Together they had three sons: Gary Dean, James Calvin and Robert Joe. They spent the early years of their marriage moving around Missouri to Stockton, Crocker, Moberly and Butler, before finally settling in El Dorado Springs for the majority and remainder of their lives. Ruby worked as a waitress in Moberly and was proud of the large pile of Roosevelt dimes she accumulated in tips, enough to buy new mattresses for her two young boys. In El Dorado, she worked at Witt Printing, where she made many friends that lasted her a lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ethel O’Connor; her sisters: Cleetus, Osa, Ina, Edna, and Hazel; and her brothers: Lester, Elvin, and infant brother D.J. Also preceding her in death were her husband Joe T and her oldest son Gary Dean.

She is survived by two sons, James Clifford and Robert Clifford; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister Kay Floyd and husband Eugene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

At her request, there will be no funeral service. The family requests that any contributions be made to a charity of your choice.  She will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

Arrangements were under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at: www.blandhackleman.com.
