Shirley Scoggins, 84, of Stanton, TX, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018 at her residence. Services were held Friday, Dec. 14, in First United Methodist Church in Stanton with Pastor Charlie Stevens officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.
Shirley was born March 17, 1934, in Abilene to Emma and Winfred Presley. She married Calvin Scoggins Nov. 26, 1949, in Stanton. She was a retired Justice of the Peace in Martin County, TX.
Shirley is survived by a daughter, Barbara Beckman, of Nevada; a son, Leroy Scoggins, of Stanton; a brother, Herschel Presley, of Arlington, TX; a sister, LaVerne McCarthy, of Orlando, FL; three grandsons – Kyle Beckman and Jimmy Beckman of Nevada and Phillip Scoggins of Midland, TX; a granddaughter, Stephanie Scoggins, of Stanton; six great-granddaughters; a great-grandson; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Bobby; and a son, Roger.
