Terry Lee Smith

Terry Lee Smith, 53, of El Dorado Springs, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019.  He was born Aug. 28, 1966, to Charles Lee and Rose (Leonard) Smith in El Dorado Springs.

He was saved and joined the Concord Missionary Baptist Church in 1979.

He graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1984.

Terry had three children he loved very much: Teresa, Brandon and Austin.  He was very family oriented and tried his best to teach his children to be loving, caring and hard working.

His hobbies included: inviting family and friends over to cook and smoke meats for them, hunting with his son, Auston, and his friends, watching KU basketball, planting his garden, taking care of the land and teasing his friends.  He put his all into his work and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

Preceding Terry in death were: his father, Charles Lee; brother, Charles Neil; and his grandparents.

Survivors include: his wife,  Janelle Smith; his mother, Rose Smith; children: Teresa Lunday and husband, Nic Hawkins, Brandon Meier and husband, Tony Meier, and Auston Smith; sister, Tina Keith, and husband, Charles Keith; sister-in-law, Ingrid Smith; grandchildren –  Tarik Hawkins, Pearce Meier and Grayson Meier; niece, Charlene Smith; nephews, Jared Keith and wife, Elizabeth, and Justin Keith; great-nieces and nephews; and many other relatives.

Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 14, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel, with Bro. DeWayne Burdette officiating.  Burial followed in Lebeck Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Shannon Daniel, Nic Hawkins, Jeff Janes, Bill Wood, Greg Wood, and Tony Meier.  Honorary pallbearers were: Jared Keith, Justin Keith and Doug McNeece.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to help the family with expenses and left at the funeral home.
