Virginia Lee “Ginny” Oryall Haase, 90, Springfield, passed away at home with her family Saturday, Nov. 13, from congestive heart failure.

Ginny was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Clinton to Pansy and Edgar Oryall, and was the oldest of three children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Lee Haase; son, Thomas Lee Haase; a brother and a sister, and a great-granddaughter.

Ginny married Daniel Haase on her 17th birthday on Aug. 2, 1949 in Kansas City, where sons Rick and Tom were born. Ginny and Dan were married for nearly 67 years until Dan’s death in 2016.

The family moved to El Dorado Springs in 1950, where Dan worked as a projectionist at the town movie theater while recovering from a broken leg and Ginny was a homemaker. After her sons were grown, she worked at Matco, volunteered at the hospital, and ran her own floral business, Le Fleur, out of her home.

Dan and Ginny made the difficult decision to leave El Dorado Springs, their home of nearly 50 years, to move to Springfield in 2000 to live closer to family. She loved all things home and family. She was a fabulous cook, made a beautiful home and loved taking her grandsons and great-grandson clothing shopping when they were young. They wore out before she did!

She is survived by her son, Ricky Lee; grandsons, Brent Lee (Abi) and Christopher Lee (Melissa); one great-granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Charles; two great-grandsons, Daniel Lee and Benjamin Donnell; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Friday, Nov. 19 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3508 N. National.
