Virginia F. Kincaid, 92, formerly of El Dorado Springs, passed peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025 at her home in Maranatha Village in Springfield. Virginia loved to help others. She was a caring mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and faithful friend whose life was devoted to the service of others as a woman of faith and pastor’s wife.
Virginia was quick to extend her hand in friendship and heart in love to all she met. Authentic humility and compassion for others were core to Virginia’s character. Her work focused on serving others including Newborns in Need, teacher’s aide, administrator for a senior center and center for adults with special needs.
During her final years while challenged by mobility and health, she continued to seek purpose in supporting and serving others. “People need help,” she would remind herself and family, focusing on seeking to offer her support and caregiving for others – even as she herself needed significant care.
She was born at her grandmother’s home in Ponca City, OK, June 30, 1933, and graduated from Ponca City High in 1951. She met her husband, the late Rev. Charles R, Kincaid, at a freshman college mixer while attending Phillips University in Enid, OK. They married in 1953, and both cherished their loving and devoted union for 64 years.
Virginia faithfully followed her husband’s career as a Christian Church minister assisting in church activities and supporting her husband in churches at Mason City, IL, Harrisonville, MO, El Dorado Springs, MO, Springdale, AR, Fairfield, IA, and Palestine, TX.
Survivors include her children, Charles Robert Kincaid (Richard Hutcheson), Anne Lynette Alexander (Alton), foster daughter Neoma Kreuter and David Alan Kincaid (Joy) of El Dorado Springs; grandchildren include, Elyse, Abigail, Ian, Faith and Ezra Kincaid; Anthony (Patricia) Alexander, Angelica Alexander, Andrew (April) Alexander, and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Glendale Christian Church of Springfield on Saturday, Sept. 13, followed by a graveside service at Antioch Cemetery in Pittsburg, MO. Memorial will be established at Glendale Christian Church Springfield.
