Zelma Joann (Hardy) McCullick, 86, El Dorado Springs, went home to Jesus on March 3rd, 2022. Joann was born to Russell and Lucy Hardy on Nov. 25, 1935 in Weaubleau.
Joann met her husband, Clayton Leo McCullick in 1951, in Collins. They married Aug. 29, 1951, and went on to have two children, Leola Ann, and Jerry Lee. Joann and Leo celebrated 70 wonderful years of marriage in August of 2021.
Joann and Leo began their marriage in El Dorado Springs and later purchased a dairy farm near Collins. They moved back to El Dorado Springs in 1968 where they have lived since.
In addition to being a dedicated mother, Joann loved cooking, crocheting, crossword puzzles and collecting clocks. She also loved playing practical jokes, laughing and having fun with her family, and embracing the silly moments in life. Some of her grandchildren’s best memories are of eating her million-dollar sugar cookies and being taught how to hypnotize chickens. Joann loved life and cherished time with her family. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God.
Joann joins her parents, Lucy Bernice (Phillips) Hardy, and Russell Harrison Hardy; sister, Harriett Bernice Hoover; daughter, Leola (McCullick) Downer; and son-in-law, Wayne Downer, in Heaven.
