Thirty plus of the best bass anglers in the Ozarks are expected to converge on Stockton Lake Saturday morning, June 23, for the American Bass Anglers AFT qualifying tournament. Launch site is Hartley Ramp (Old State Park). Registration can be done at the ramp starting at 4:30 a.m. Weigh-in will be shortly after 2:30 p.m. Anglers will fish from 5:30-2:30.

Anglers fish this tournament for cash and prizes from area sponsors including Pete’s Convenience Stores, the Outboard Doctor, Albers Marine, Legacy Farm & Lawn and Ken’s Kafe. They also earn points which determine their national standing positions and their D126 standing position. The top D126 points leader will be declared D126 Angler of the Year and be invited to compete against about 40 other Anglers of the Year from across the nation in October 2018 on Lake Hartwell, SC. The winner of that competition will take home a fully rigged 2018 Triton TR21. The top 500 anglers from across the nation will be invited to compete in a National Championship held the same time and place as the AOY competition. The winner of this Championship will also take home a fully rigged 2018 TR21.

The D126 year-end Championship will be the final tournament of the 2018 season. It will be held Aug. 11-12, 2018 on Stockton Lake. This tournament will determine the Stockton Lake Champion as well as the D126 Angler of the Year. The National Championship at Hartwell Lake will be held Oct. 24-26, 2018.

This tournament series is a draw format and designed for the weekend angler, boaters and non-boaters from age 14.  An ABA membership costing $35 per year is required and allows anglers to fish any ABA tournament. Entry fee for D126 tournaments is $70/angler; a $10 Big Bass option pot is offered. More information can be found at www.centralmidwestbass.com. Call Becky with questions or comments at 316/644-1454.
