Fishing’s good. The river’s down. You can catch all the fish you want on trotline on anything you bait with. Rod and reel even works.

They are catching mostly blue cats. You have to use perch to catch flatheads.

I’ve got shad, gold fish, perch, worms, bullheads and frozen bait.

Not a lot of people fishing.

We will be closed on Sunday and Monday until next March.

They are catching crappie and catfish off the bridge up against the dam. Minnows are the best bait.

Several people are fishing but the heat and the rain slowed them down.

I’d like for Stockton Lake to get back to normal so we can start renting canoes.

Mary, her dad and our son were on the way back in and got into a school of white bass and loaded the boat. Last week people were catching white bass trolling Rattle Traps.

Mary told the Sun on Saturday they were in the main part of the lake about dark when a school of white bass started schooling after shad. They stopped the boat and caught them on Rattle Traps. She said their son, Hudson, age 8, thought it was pretty neat.

They are catching crappie on the brush piles and trolling for walleye on the flats. I see them over there cleaning fish so they are having some luck.

The lake is 3 1⁄2 or 4 ft. high.
