They are catching blue cats on about any bait you use. Lines are best, but rod and reel catch some. I’ve seen several 30 and 40 lb. blues, one 55.
You have to fish for flatheads to catch them. Live bait. Bullheads work.
The river is nasty. You should rinse the fish in clear water before you clean them.
I’ve got gold fish, bullheads, crawdads, worms and frozen bait.
We will be closed on Sunday and Monday until next March.

The water is down. They ran it for an hour yesterday. They plan to run it four hours tonight.

The lake is five feet below normal pool. Keeper walleye are hitting on bottom bouncers on the flats. One guy said he caught two walleye that were above the maximum length. So he had to release them. MDC calls them breeders.
Crappie are sporadic. I think people are fishing too shallow with the lake five feet low.
People are catching lots of catfish on fishheads at 24 ft. and below.
You can go to an app called MO FISHING and see about a hundred brushpiles the Corps has placed in the lake. You can do that on any Corps lake.
