Taberville Report
by Bobby Dains
Dains Fish Farm
Fish are biting. Trotlines are best by far. With rod and reel you have to get in your spot.
There are thousands of blue cats. Flatheads are getting more scarce.
Blue catfish: 26” to 34” protected slot length limit; 10 fish daily and possession limit; the daily limit may not contain more than 2 blue catfish more than 34”.
It’s hard to measure a flopping fish, Lots of people get a ticket for possessing a cat that is 1⁄4 inch short., So, be careful.
There is no slot length for flatheads.
Moe people are complaining about the slot length. A lot are going to Oklahoma or Kansas. It’s discouraging to spend up to $200 on bait then have to release several good fish that don’t quite make the slot length.
