Taberville Report

Dains Fish Farm
We’ve got a lot of people trotlining right now. They are having a lot of luck. Basically, they are using perch, bullheads and brown carp. They are getting flatheads.
We’ve had reports from people that got at least three every time they ran their lines. The biggest one they weighed in was 43 lbs. We’ve had people weigh in a 32. We’ve got campers right now fishing. They got one in the 20s and the rest of them smaller so they are going to go the other direction in the river today.
They are all flatheads except some campers who are rod and reel fishing using shad. They are catching smaller blues under the limit and channel cats. They caught enough for two fish fries and they took some home to freeze. So they are satisfied. That was their goal.
They are doing great. In fact, we have campers coming over for another 12 lbs. of brown carp in a few minutes. Bobby grows them.

Fishing depends on where you are. Some people are catching and some aren’t.
I hear some people are catching cats out of the Osage if you are in the right place and the right time. Then some of us idiots go and we don’t get a bite.
