The wind has picke up quite a bit so our bowhunters are kinda discouraged. They just don’t even want to sit in the treestands.

One of them came in and got some nightcrawlers. I told him as of yesterday right down here under the bridge from the bank with nighcrawlers a local couple were catching channel cats and smaller blues.

Remember last week I told you our campers weren’t having much luck going one direction with their trotlines? They went the other direction and ended getting a 56 lb. flathead.

They had caught a 57 a couple of years ago and wanted to beat that. But they were tickled.

That was on Thursday. The river came up fast overnight and is still up over the boat ramp here on Tuesday. It came up so fast I don’t think they even tried to salvage their lines. They just went home. All the local people don’t know whether they have trotlines left or not. It was just overnight into Friday morning.

We have a couple of fishermen who are going all the way to the Sac. They said it’s wider and while the Osage came up 9 or 10 feet, the Sac only came up 2 or 3. They salvaged their trotlines are setting throwlines strictly with bullheads. They have just slayed the flatheads and the blues. As of last week, they had to throw back seven blue cats that were in the slot. The caught enough above and below they are still fishing. They bought more bullheads last night.

They may be driving to launch at the Sac River bridge. The Osage is still over the launch ramp here.

Some of my guys went downto Gallinipper and they couldn’t get in there it was so high.

They have been catching catfish at Sparrow Foot up by Clinton.

My bait man told me the walleye and white bass are biting on Lake Stockton.

Some fishermen came in and told one of the guys that they caught some walleye over by the dam.

They will come in and tell us they caught them and where but they won’t tell us anything else.
