Dains Fish Farm

It slowed down just a little this week. It was still good over the weekend.

We still had our campers running trotlines. They were using the smaller bullheads and gold fish. They were still catching flatheads but not the size they were before.

They were getting 30 – 35 lbs. with the biggest then some smaller ones.

I don’t know if the fishing is not as good right now or more people are thinking deer season.

We had a couple in yesterday and they are fishing Sac River in the afternoon and they said they had the area almost all to themselves. They were using nightcrawlers on rod and reel. They caught several channel cats, a perch, a drum and a striper. For a hot afternoon and the price of two dozen nightcrawlers, they were tickled to death. They came back and got more nightcrawlers and were going to go again.

I haven’t heard of anybody rod and reel fishing on the Osage. They said they were up by Hwy. 82. She said they went to two places and didn’t have any luck and this was the third place they went.

R&R Sporting & Tackle

There are still a few people going. One guy went in the Osage and caught some crappie beside the bank.

My cousin caught some big ol crappie below the dam at Warsaw.

A guy came in and said they caught a couple of flatheads last week – one 56 and one 30,

Come get their deer tags before the last day. These new computers make it slower. Even Lana was gong to put in for them to get their deer tags early.
