Fishing is not too bad.

They are catching catfish on trotlines in the Osage and in Truman Lake baiting with perch, shad and hotdogs. Some of the blues are above he slot limit, some below, some in it.

They are catching a few crappie down at Bucksaw and in that area, but not many. I haven’t heard of any up here.

We had a super busy weekend. We were just filled up with campers and they were all fishing. As far as I know, everybody caught some. I think everybody left happy.

The biggest that I saw weighed was a 36 lb. blue cat that they caught on a trotline with brown carp.

They were pretty excited. They didn’t trust our scales so one of them came in and bought digital scales.

Ours is that old fashioned kind. You can’t beat it. It’s accurate.

They have been catching limits of crappie twice a day 20 ft. deep with minnows sitting over structure. They have been catching them at the mouth of Maze Creek pretty good.

I’ve seen a lot of 12 and 13-inch crappie being cleaned here on the dock. I’ve seen them out here cleaning in the middle of the day. Then they go back out and catch another limit.

White bass have started chasing shad and surfacing in the back of coves. You can throw anything under the sun at them and they will hit it. That’s a good time.
