Hunting: Shotgun Selection & Shotgun Fit for Turkey Hunting

Why do hunters miss that perfect turkey shot at close distances? Conservation Educator Dee Dee Dockins will explain the differences when shooting a shotgun at moving and stationary targets. Understand the concept of point of impact, patterning, gun fit and optics and how to make adjustments to make that shot a success.
Hunting: Turkey Hunting Safety

Don’t ever assume you are the only hunter in the woods. Test your skills through many different hunting scenarios “gone wrong” so you will hunt safely and defensively this season. Conservation Educator Dee Dee Dockins and guest host Protection Captain Russell Duckworth will give you the tools you need to be safe in the field as well as additional considerations when hunting on public land. Time will be reserved at the end of the program for questions.

Spring is here, and the toms are strutting. That can only mean one thing to some people; spring turkey season is here! For more than 50 years, Missourians have enjoyed pursuing these large elusive birds. Join us as we explore the basics of turkey hunting, including locations, equipment, techniques and more.
Hunting: Youth Turkey Hunt for new hunters

Date: Friday, April 9, 2021 – 4:00pm to Saturday, April 10, 2021 – 7:00pm
Location: Wood Station
This is an awesome opportunity for new hunters to go turkey hunting with an experienced mentor, learn about turkeys, and maybe even harvest one. Hunter must be between 7 and 15 years of age and have never harvested a bird. Shotguns and ammo will be provided to those who need them.
This is a partnership event with the Kenneth Kirchman Foundation.
The foundation will provide the venue, food, gear, and hunting ground.
Friday Clinic:
Participants will practice shooting and calling in turkeys. The kids will also meet their mentors and learn tactics for harvesting a turkey.
Saturday Hunt:
The kids will start the morning out by going hunting with their Mentors. Lunch will be provided after the hunt, as well as other activities.
