American Bass Anglers, Division 126 held a 2-day Championship on Stockton Lake Aug. 27-28.

The weather on both days was cooperative, but the fish, not so much. Sunshine and clouds ruled both days, with not much wind and temperatures reaching the upper 80’s. Springfield angler, Jay Carter came back from a 4.09 lb. day-1 weight to bring in 14.72 lb bag on day-2. It was anchored with Big Fish of the day and Big Fish of the tournament; it weighed 6.27 lbs.

Second place went to Greenfield angler Mike Dill with a 2-day weight of 11.99 lbs; Scott Tassi of Arma, KS took 3rd with 11.77 lbs. The only 5-fish limit of the tournament was brought in on day 1 by 4th place finisher, Dominic Cavitt. Big Bass on day-1 was Dill with a 2.77 lb black bass.

All the anglers who competed in this tournament are now qualified to fish the ABA National Championship to be held Sept. 19-21 on Eufaula Lake, AL.  D126 Angler of the Year has the opportunity to compete against about 40 A’sOY from other divisions, that prize being a fully rigged Triton boat. The highest finishing non-boater at the National Championship will also win a fully rigged Triton boat.

Full results with pictures can be found at www.centralmidwestbass.com. This completes the 2016 season for D126. A fall schedule has been set. The first fall tournament is Oct. 8, 2016. Fall tournaments will count for the 2017 ABA season. ABA membership is $25/year; entry fee for each tournament is $70. D126 is a draw format tournament series open to anyone age 14 and up.
