Twenty American Bass Anglers met at Stockton Lake RB Cove Ramp Saturday June 15, 2019. A storm blew through bringing rain as well as some thunder and lightning. The storm did not last long enough to delay fishing time as anglers oozed off at about 6:00 a.m. following a safety briefing and partner draw. It continued to rain a short time, but most of the day was overcast. With the water level being 18’ high, most of the fishing was done in flooded trees, bushes and picnic tables.

Scott Miles won the tournament with a 5 fish limit weighing 10.94 lbs and took $543 for the win. Second place went to David Hughes with 10.18; 3rd place was Scott Tassi with 9.17. Greg Miller caught Big Bass, a 3.22 lb largemouth which paid him $200.

This was the final 1-day tournament for D126 2019 season. The next D126 tournament will be their two-day Championship scheduled for August 3-4. Anglers must qualify for the two-day by fishing at least four one-day tournaments. The D126 Angler of the Year will be determined at the two-day. That angler will be invited to compete at the ABA National Championship as AOY, representing D126. Prize for the AOY finishing highest at the National Championship is a fully rigged Triton Boat package. The winner of the National Championship will also win a fully rigged Triton boat package. The 2019 National Championship will be held on Eufaula Lake, AL October 13-15, 2019.

D126 is a national draw circuit designed for the week-end angler. Boaters and non-boaters from age 14 are encouraged to compete. The 2020 season will begin in the fall of 2019. A schedule will be posted on websites and newspapers.

ABA membership is $35/year; entry fee is $70 with a $10 Big Bass option pot. Read more about American Bass Anglers at www.americanbassanglers.com. Call Becky with any questions at 316 644-1454.
