The Cedar County Commission met December 1,2025. Present: Kenneth Thornton; Presiding Commissioner; Ron Alumbaugh, Northern Commissioner; Ted Anderson, Southern Commissioner, Carla Lowe, Treasurer, and Chrislynn Price, County Clerk.
9:00 a.m. Collector Lisa Nelson presented court orders to be signed. Commission signed court orders, numbers 123000-123053
9:00 a.m. Rusty Norval and Tom Ryan with Cedar County Ambulance District, concern about education of dispatchers for the Ambulance District. Commission will discuss it with Sheriff James McCrary. McCrary came into meeting while Mr. Norval and Ryan were still present. McCrary stated that the employees do need to have the training and most are set up for it, it’s just a matter of the employees logging in and getting the training started.
9:04 a.m. Assessor Leah Morton presented weekly report
9:51 a.m. Concerned Citizen about 601 RD, wondering if it could possibly be paved, discussion on how chip and seal can sometime cause a more difficult scenario.
9:58 a.m. James McCrary with weekly update, inmate count is at 29. Discussion on certain budget items, such as replacement of A/C and Heat units and needing Vehicles Updated.
10:15 a.m. Thornton signed GBS Health Insurance renewal
10:20 a.m. Thornton signed final agreement with Liberty Vote for new voting equipment for the Election Authority.
10:29 a.m. Discussion on Narcan boxes, Alumbaugh moved to approve the purchase of 2 boxes up to $950 with shipping fees to be paid out of the Opioid Settlement monies, Anderson seconded the move, the move passed unanimously with Thornton Voting yes as well. Thornton signed MOU between CCHD and CCMH for the Narcan distribution.
10:48 a.m. Thornton signed TKE Repair order for Leak down Test for the Elevator
11:49 a.m. Assessor Leah Morton, discussion on Chicken Barns and Solar Panel Farm
1:00 p.m. DJ Ford County Road and Bridge Supervisor with weekly update, Alumbaugh moved to reject all Truck bids received, Anderson seconded the move, the move passed unanimously with Thomton voting yes as well. The commission will be looking into the open market for a better price, reference RsMO 34.040 (3).
1:43 p.m. Commission approved for half a workday on Christmas Eve
Reviewed and Approved Payroll and Accounts Payable Bills.
