The Cedar County Commission met January 12, 2026. Present: Kenneth Thornton; Presiding Commissioner; Ted Anderson, Southern Commissioner, Ron Alumbaugh, Northern Commissioner, Chrislynn Price, County Clerk.

9:00 a.m. Assessor Leah Morton presented weekly report, discussion on concern about special road district

9:45 a.m. Judge Munton and Sarah Turner with concern about elevator

10:00 a.m. Concerned citizen call about 1800 road where someone dumped tires and trash

10:00 a.m. Bid opening for Re-Bid of Courthouse Cleaning, Allied Cleaning Solutions is the only bid submitted at $24,100 labor only, with cleaning supplies $24,850, also, proposed a 1 time clean to get back to a baseline at $425, Anderson moved to approve the bid with cleaning supplies at $24,850, this does not include paper products and the one time overall base clean of $425, Alumbaugh seconded the move, the move passed unanimously with Thomton voting yes as well.

11:22 a.m. Clay Jeffries, Chief Deputy inmate count of 28, discussion on extra MIFI for vehicle, commission agreed to purchase one MIFI.

1:00 p.m. DJ Ford Road and Bridge supervisor with weekly update

1:30 p.m. Anderson moved to approve the TKE Elevator Proposal at $99,382.14 with a down payment of $69,567.50. The full $99,382.14 will be taken out of the LATCF Funds. Alumbaugh seconded the move, the move passed unanimously with Thornton voting yes as well. Thornton signed the proposal.

2:00 p.m. Conference Call with Victoria Barker about a part needed for the generator and to split the cost with Cedar County Memorial Hospital.

3:36 p.m. Collector Lisa Nelson presented court orders numbers 123430-123470

3:54 p.m. Commission tried reaching out to Michael from Clear Basin, commission got voicemail and left a voicemail about the tax payback concern, in addition also a concern on the monthly appropriation report.
