The Cedar County Commission met July 6,2026. Present: Kenneth Thornton; Presiding Commissioner; Ted Anderson, Southern Commissioner, Ron Alumbaugh, Northern Commissioner, Chrislynn Price, County Clerk.

9:00 a.m. Collector Lisa Nelson presented weekly court order numbers 124260-124273

9: 15 a.m. Sheriff James McCrary with weekly report, inmate count of 40

9: 10 a.m. Assessor Leah Morton presented weekly report

10:30 a.m. Conference Call with Mirra Cornejo, decision to keep the Environmental Specialist car after the hail damage.

11:25 a.m. Katie McGee concerning using vending machines as Narcan Dispensing boxes so they are

temperature controlled, questions surrounding opioid funds, commission stated to get a quote together on how much it will cost.

1:00 p.m. DJ Ford Road and Bridge Supervisor presented weekly update

9: 15 a.m. Thomton signed affidavit of retention total loss vehicle for the Cedar County Health Department Environmental Specialist vehicle.

9:20 a.m. John Hickman with HIC surrounding insurance quoting

9:25 a.m. SheriffMcCrary with weekly update, inmate count of 43

9:55 a.m. Tom Ryan and Mike Minter with Cedar County Ambulance District with request for Opioid

Settlement Funds for RQIP GO CPR Training system in the amount of $10,308.00, It was clarified that County Clerk Price did NOT stop the Cedar County Ambulance District from receiving ANY of the Opioid Settlement Funds, the request made last year was on hold because the County Commission were unsure of where the County was going to allocate the funds as the County had multiple requests at the time. Discussion about the equipment being used exclusively for overdoses. County Commission stated that they will take it under advisement. Treasurer Lowe gave Tom Ryan the invoice for Dispatching Services and the Dispatch Training Reimbursement.

10:50 a.m. Commission reviewed and signed Cedar County Senior Service Board Fund Requests for

Quarter 1-3 2025 in the amount of $52,771.09.

11:00 a.m. Weston Hangar with Great River Engineering with BRO update, Thomton signed Floodplain Permit.

11:30 a.m. Terry Donelson with Clever Stone Co. surrounding asphaltic sandstone information, $16 a ton for asphaltic sandstone

1:00 p.m. DJ Ford Road and Bridge Supervisor presented weekly update, Bridge number 446003 1 issues

with Closed signs being taken and guardrails being cut off, MODOT closed the bridge due to safety so we need to try and prevent citizens from crossing the bridge. Road and Bridge is going to try and weld some guardrails hack up and closed signs put back up to try and ensure the safety of the citizens. Commissioners Anderson and Alumbaugb went to go look at a road that was a concern.

1:00 p.m. Joel Settle regarding Omer Special Road District contacts

1:40 p.m. Billy Bruce regarding that DNR is not needed, therefore Anderson motioned to approve the plat for the subdivision known as Canter Ridge Estates, Alumbaugh seconded the motion, the motion passed unanimously with Thornton voting yes as well.

2:00 p.m. Thornton signed the Assessor Quarterly Reimbursement Report

2:15 p.m. Citizen concerning grading 350 road due to difficulty for semi’s to go up hill.
