The Cedar County Commission met October 21, 2019. Present were: Marlon Collins, Presiding Commissioner; Don Boultinghouse, Northern Commissioner; Robert Foster, Southern Commissioner; Heather York, County Clerk 

Approved Commission Minutes for October 7, 2019 and October 15, 2019.

Met with Chad Pyle, Assessor

Requests to process court order 24727, 24742, 24760-24827, to add-on the assessed valuation of newly purchased personal property. 

Resident stopped in to report corner of CR920 and CR1819 needing to have brush mowed as Johnson grass is overgrown and is an accident prone location.

Met with Cheryl Marcum for an update on SB391.

Met with Sheriff James McCrary

Weekly Report of Inmate Housing: Out of County – 50, Cedar – 13 = 63

Sheriff submitted a revised contract for Police Services for the City of Stockton.  Commission will review and discuss October 28, 2019. 

Commissioners adjourned to attend the Cedar County Memorial Hospital meeting at 11:00 a.m. and reconvened at 2:45 p.m.

Met with Sheridan, Kaysinger Basin

Applying for Brownsfield Grant and requesting counties to participate in a coalition in order to get more funding.  This grant pays for phase 1 or phase 2 environmental assessments that assist folks in moving forward on cleanup projects.  She will need a support letter and a short form to be completed at a later time.

Received a follow-up on Kaysinger’s status of organizing a regional group to prepare for the 2020 Census process.  Kaysinger will organize a strategy meeting to be held but this is still in the planning stage.  Cedar County plans to attend the strategy meeting once organized.  Kaysinger’s next meeting is 11/21/19, at 12:00 p.m.
