Requested purchase of a new van instead of continuing to repair the Chevy Uplander.  Van will be paid for by one of the Sheriff’s discretionary funds.

Requested policy change to pay overtime regardless of whether 40 hours is worked if grants pay overtime wages.  Commission will consider but no decision at this time.

Motion by Foster to approve Rock Bid by Ashgrove Aggregates and Bailey Quarries, Boultinghouse seconded.  Both bids were accepted in order to use the quarry closest to the destination to minimize fuel consumption.  Collins – Yes, Foster – Yes, Boultinghouse – Yes

Met with Freddie Steely – Concern for maintenance on several county roads CR1125, CR752.  Requested some high water signs in Sac River bottom area.

Discussed garage doors at jail – Have spent $3308 to date for repairs on them.

Looked into E911 enhancement – it will cost too much to implement on our own but will visit with Dade County Commission to discuss multijurisdictional 911 system.

Capital Material – Tyler Frank called about and faxed a bid for gravel.  Capital Material missed the bid cycle for 2019 however their bid will be kept on file and used if site location is closest to Capital Materials quarry near Fair Play. 

Danny Swartz came in to discuss chicken barns.  He was provided a copy of CAFO ordinance.

Marilyn Ellis emailed Marlon about Community Foundation.  Requested commission support for grant request of $10,000.  Commission signed letter of support for the Community Foundation.

Overhead Door is returning to review complaints concerning garage doors in jail.

Met with Peggy Kenney, Treasurer – Reported on treasurer training last week. 

The treasurer will now submit payments to the county commission for their viewing to sign off on and will only pay invoices once a week on Monday’s coinciding with the Commission meetings unless an emergency situation.

Tammy Ikerd, University Extension – Reviewed Monthly Outreach Report

Barn quilt tour is a form of Agri-tourism – Cedar, Bates and Vernon are looking into participating in this project and what it takes to be a part of the national barn quilt tour.

Met with elected officials to review approved office budgets for 2019.

Commission reviewed a letter concerning Alternative Jail Sanction Program.

Commission reviewed monthly reports from Circuit Clerk, County Clerk, Recorder of Deeds and Sheriff’s Office’s.

Commission reviewed Cedar County Senior Citizens Service Fund Board request for payment and approved.  Submitted to Treasurer for payment.

Commission reviewed payment requests submitted to the Treasurer for discretionary funds. not.
